Student Art & Literature Contest
"Birds in My World"
In celebration of the Tracy Aviary AVES (Avian Ecology in Schools) Project we are pleased to announce the first annual AVES Student Art and Literature Contest.
This contest is restricted to 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students of teachers currently using the AVES curriculum in their classrooms. Students are invited to submit one entry each in the writing and art categories. Winning Entries will be exhibited in the Aviary's Chase Mill April 6 through 19, 2009.
Entries will be accepted at the Tracy Aviary ticket window from January 9 through February 28, 2009.
Prizes in each Category
1st Prize: Family Membership, Private visit with a bird & trainer, Portrait with a bird
2nd Prize: Tracy Aviary Family Membership, Private visit with a bird & trainer
3rd Prize: Tracy Aviary Family Membership
Honorable Mention: Tracy Aviary Family Day Pass, Amazon Adventure or Pelican Feeding
Best of School: Tracy Aviary Family Day Pass
Judges
Writing: Utah children's book authors, Brad Wilcox and Rick Walton
Art: Local Utah artists, Louise Fischman and Wayne Geary
