For the Birds

Did you know that by changing just a few of your daily habits, you can make life a little more bird-friendly and be a great example for your community? Come visit Tracy Aviary and pick up your own "Pocket Guide For The Eagle-Eyed Consumer" or click on this link. The wallet-sized guide will help you make positive decisions from deciding what products to buy to tips you can do at your home. Whether you switch to shade-grown coffee or put up a bird feeder at your home, Tracy Aviary and the world's birds thank you for bettering their lives.

Team Verde

In November 2009, Tracy Aviary formed a committee called "Team Verde." This committee, comprised of employees from the various departments on staff, meets once a month to discuss different ways Tracy Aviary can strive to be more environmentally and economically sustainable. Team Verde also puts out a monthly/bimonthly newsletter to staff. This newsletter provides an opportunity to let all staff members share information, ideas on how to save energy, community events or any other general Aviary announcements and happenings. If you have any questions please send us an email by clicking here.

Composting

In an effort to reduce waste, Tracy Aviary has begun vermicomposting, or composting with worms, in addition to our regular composting bins. Our red wiggler worms help us return healthy organic matter back into the soil by dining on waste from our employee and bird prep kitchens.
