Avian Adventure Summer Camps
Each Avian Adventure Camp is one-week long and will provide lots of opportunities for up-close interaction with all kinds of birds as well as with bird trainers. Tracy Aviary Avian Adventure Camps will engage and entertain your children while they learn through crafts, projects, experiments and explorations. If your child is going into kindergarten through fifth grade, we have a camp for you! Choose between half-day or full-day options.
Kindergarten & First Grade
Fast as a Falcon
June 15th - 19th, 9 am - 12 pm
Members $105 • Non-members $120
Come fly with the feathered, the fast, the skilled and the stunning. Raptors are the strongest and most majestic of all birds, and this week campers will dig deep into all their feats and abilities with games, activities and crafty creations. Get ready to have fun with Tracy Aviary's furious falcons, awesome owls, heroic hawks, elegant eagles and super scavengers. Are you as fast as a falcon?
Treetops & Tropics
June 15th - 19th, 1 pm - 4 pm
Members $105 • Non-members $120
Come learn about the most diverse habitat on earth-the rainforest! Come paint with parrots, craft with conures and run amongst rainbow lories. This week campers will experience the diversity of the tropics when exploring the Aviary. From macaws to monkeys and toucans to trumpet flowers, campers will see the sights and hear the sounds of the magical home that so many of our Aviary birds depend on to live.
Second Grade & Third Grade
Weavers, Drillers & Builders
June 22th - 26th, 9 am - 12 pm
Members $105 • Non-members $120
Join us for a week of exploration into the homes and habitats of our feathered friends. From visiting nests around the Aviary to constructing some of their own, campers will be master builders by the end of this week. They will get the chance to gather materials-from sticks and leaves to feathers and fluff-to make the perfect kid-sized nest!
Wet & Wild Waterfowl
June 22th - 26th, 1 pm - 4 pm
Members $105 • Non-members $120
Diving, dipping, dunking...these birds do it all! Campers will learn what makes water birds so extraordinary as they toss fish to our flock of American white pelicans and race like a duckling. Come splash around and stay cool at Tracy Aviary with waders of the water. Feel free to wear a swimsuit and bring a towel to keep your feathers fluffed and dry!
Talented Talons
July 6th - 10th, 1 pm - 4 pm

Come soar through summer with sculptures, paintings, drawings and more! Each day campers will get their creative minds flying as they trek through the Aviary in search of avian-inspiration. We'll use our feathered friends from around the world to create, craft, fashion and form masterpieces of all shapes, sizes and colors!

Join Tracy Aviary and The Living Planet Aquarium as we take a look at the unrivaled Predators of the Sea and Sky. On Monday and Tuesday, campers will soar the skies at Tracy Aviary to seek out the predatory prowess of owls, eagles, hawks and falcons. On Wednesday and Thursday campers will meet predators from waters across the globe at The Living Planet Aquarium and discover how water enhances the superpowers of sharks, anacondas, caimans and more!

From all things man-made-airplanes, balloons, rockets and kites, to all things natural-mammals, insects and birds too, join us for a week of flight study! Mornings at Tracy Aviary will be spent exploring the exciting world of birds-their beaks, feet, feathers and flight patterns too! Campers will then spend the afternoons investigating the forces of aerodynamics, rocket design and buoyancy through hands-on activities at UMNH. This camp will begin at Tracy Aviary and end at UMNH. Beyond Birds & High Flying Feathers

Join us as we explore all things that fly from insects and balloons to kites, rockets and birds! Campers will spend the morning at UNMH investigating Bernoulli's principle of flight and experiment with wind flow. The afternoons at Tracy Aviary include up-close experiences with live birds and discoveries of what makes birds the most aerodynamic acrobats of the air. Avian Explorers
August 3rd - 7th, 9 am - 12 pm

Spend a week discovering now the experts of the bird world know so much! From the ornithologists that study wild birds all over the world to the talented keepers at Tracy Aviary, campers will experience first-hand just how each job is unique and plays an important role in the world of bird study. Get close with the keepers and learn how they do what they do!
Green Wings
August 3rd - 7th, 1 pm - 4 pm

Green Wings is all about the birds, your child and our environment. Campers will spend the week investigating things like trash and pollution to learn about what really is waste. Come help us and the birds explore new ways we can help the natural world as we make recycled crafts and hike through Tracy Aviary and Liberty Park.
