Destination Argentina! Exhibit
Our first new, modern exhibit in over 20 years, Destination Argentina! opened July 15, 2005. The exhibit brings a little bit of Argentina to Utah, so you can see where some of our Utah birds go when they migrate.
Every year, hundreds of thousands of shorebirds from Utah's Great Salt Lake fly south to winter in Argentina. In Destination Argentina! you get a glimpse of the world that some Utah birds visit when they head south every winter. You can experience a slice of Argentina right here at Tracy Aviary. No plane ticket required!
Walk through a free flight aviary in an "abandoned" homestead on the pampas of Argentina, now taken over by common Argentine backyard birds - noisy monk parakeets, curious guira cuckoos, and flashy red-crested cardinals. Wander past the wetland home of elegant black-necked swans and other beautiful, exotic waterfowl. Round the bend, and come across a flock of Chilean flamingos feeding along the shore of Laguna Mar Chiquita, Argentina's own Great Salt Lake.
