Tracy Aviary Fall Break Camps
October 20 & 21, 2016
Single, Full-day Camps Available
Have a hoot with us this fall during our Fall Break Camps! Tracy Aviary offers camps for two age groups: 1st-2nd grade and 3rd-5th grade. Each camp runs one full day from 9am to 4pm. See the menu below for daily themes.
Our camps explore fall themes through crafts, activities, and most importantly nose-to-beak experiences with Tracy Aviary’s feathered friends. Because each day is different, you are free to choose the camps that appeal to you and your child’s interests.
Note: Each day’s theme will be the same for the two age groups, but activities will be adjusted to be developmentally appropriate.
Eat, Screech, and Be Scary - October 20, 9am-4pm
Of all of the birds out there, vultures, owls, and ravens seem to be some of the scariest– but are they really so frightening? In this camp we will get to know some spooky birds up-close and personal. Your child will discover what their new feathered friends are doing during autumn, how they survive wintertime, and if they are really as mysterious as we think they are.
Sweet Treats and Tweets - October 21, 9am-4pm
Whether you stick around for winter or high-tail it south to where the weather is warm, if you’re a bird you are still thinking about one thing… your treats! In this day of camp, your child will explore the colorful costumes and kooky customs of birds that brave the elements to ensure a good meal, with an emphasis on art and our innate creativity. We will learn about birds at home, as well as celebrations awaiting some of our traveling feathered friends in South America and wrap up the day with a festival of our own.
