Birds of the Great Salt Lake Wetlands Tours
Join Tracy Aviary as we explore the Great Salt Lake and its diverse habitats and experience the many birds that call it home.
The Great Salt Lake and its wetlands are a globally significant migratory stop over and nesting area for millions of birds. The surrounding wetlands have some fantastic opportunities for birding. The lake is very large and birds move around a lot, so over the course of the year, the best places for birding change from week to week and even day to day. Our conservation and bird experts will select a location for this winter field trip a few days in advance & share the meeting site and time with participants via email.
There is a maximum limit on the number of people we can bring along, so please register early. We are limited to 7 participants &/or 2 cars. We strongly recommend participants be comfortable walking 1 to 2 miles and be 14 years or older. This trip will take most of the day, depending on which site we visit. Participants should bring lunch, water, and snacks and dress appropriately for the weather (warm clothing, sturdy shoes/boots, sunglasses, bug spray, and sun screen are all recommended). We love your furry friends, but they are not permitted to join us on this field trip.
