Birds and Brews: Migration Edition

Birds and Brews is back by popular demand - this time to launch Lights Out for Migration!

Join us for live music, beverages by Fisher Brewing, handmade art, and inquisitive company in the cozy atmosphere of The Chase Mill - all for a good cause! Tray Aviary has partnered with Dark Sky SLC to launch an important new citizen science initiative; Lights Out for Migration.  We'll spend the evening enjoying and exploring the night sky with lectures, telescopes, and Tracy's own conservation biologist to help spot the silhouettes of songbirds as they migrate across the face of the full moon - and we'll learn how tiny actions can mean life-saving improvements for migrating birds!

Families and 21+ cadres alike can wander the Tracy Aviary grounds, which will be lit by trails of tea lights leading to keepers ready to talk about birds and their migration habits in the wild.  Local printmaker Anna Hansen of The Hex Press will live-print hand-carved Dark Sky SLC designs on shirts, bags - and anything you bring her to print on!  Guests who missed our last events' popular lecture can attend one of 3 presentations (same talk, different times) throughout the evening to get their learning on with Jess Dwyer, Chapter Lead of Dark Sky SLC. Clark Planetarium will be on hand to help folks visualize the impact of a Lights Out program.

Beer will be $5 per drink.  Proceeds from both beer and printing sales directly benefit Dark Sky SLC.  Food will be available for purchase from Tracy Aviary's Bird Feeder Cafe, conveniently located on the ground floor of The Chase Mill.

When purchasing tickets, please indicate the time you would like to attend the presentation.

Children's tickets are $5, and children 2 years old and under are free.

**Talk is the same as the September 2017 Birds & Brews**

Please email Julie at with any questions.
