Looking for a last minute gift idea for your little one this holiday season? Tracy Aviary’s Little Chicks preschool classes start February 12th and now is the time to register! Each class is offered one day a week, from 9:30-10:30am, for six weeks. You can sign-up for the whole series or individual classes. Our goal is to help your child make new friends, develop curiosity about birds, and become comfortable with the children (and birds!) around them. Still not convinced? Check out these 10 reasons to join us this winter!

  1. Class includes admission. Fee includes day admission for your little chick plus one adult. Grab a snack or hot chocolate from the Bird Feeder Cafe and explore the rest of the Aviary!
  2. You can catch a bird show. Stick around after class for our 11am Indoor Show.
  3. Little Chicks is a great introduction to preschool. Little Chicks classes provide a safe environment for children to learn and play with others, develop social skills, and prepare for a classroom environment.
  4. Adults get to participate! Ever wanted to attend an Aviary camp or class? Here’s your chance! These classes are designed for guardian involvement so you get to spend time with your child and get close to our avian ambassadors.
  5. A special bird visitor comes to each class. You’ll meet a new bird every week and learn cool facts about our bird show stars.
  6. Story time can help build early literacy skills. Each week our educators read an interactive and engaging story from our library of bird and nature-themed books. You might find a new favorite!
  7. Participation develops gross and fine motor skills. Each class includes a movement activity and a craft to practice gross motor skills (arms and legs) and fine motor skills (fingers and hands).
  8. You may acquire some new artwork for your home. See what masterpiece your child will create in class. Some of the crafts are definitely fridge-worthy!
  9. Classes begin and end with a song. Even if you can’t carry a tune, singing together is a great way to bond! Join us for some silly songs and a few dances.
  10. The fun doesn’t have to end with class! Participants receive a short scavenger hunt each week with ideas of things to look for or do outside of class. You can extend your morning at the Aviary or bring it home to complete later. Plus, between exciting bird visitors and catchy tunes, there is plenty more to share with friends and family. You’ll be talking about Little Chicks all week!
