5 Easy Ways You Can Help Tracy Aviary this Fall

Happy Fall from your favorite feathered friends! The past 6 months have been overwhelming and exhausting (to say the least!), but thanks to our amazing community of supporters, Tracy Aviary has been able to continue with our operations in a reduced capacity. However, we are still recovering from our two month closure and our limited admission model continues to impact our revenue. We are working hard to ensure the best possible care for our 400 birds, but we can’t do it alone. Since we can’t safely have the number of guests on grounds that we usually do this time of year, we are asking you to help us raise additional funds in one of these 5 simple ways:

  1. Round up the Cost of Your Admission

The best way you can support the Aviary is by coming to visit us! We are open to the general public from 10am - 5pm seven days a week, and are open for 65+ and other high risk individuals from 9am - 10am every day. $1.00 of your admission ticket goes to our conservation fund to support avian conservation projects around the world, and the rest goes directly to the birds who call Tracy Aviary home. A very easy way to make your admission purchase go even farther is to round up the cost of your admission to the nearest dollar, or five dollars.

When you purchase tickets online at https://tracyaviary.org/hours-admission, you will be given an opportunity to add an additional donation before you finish checking out (see image below). If you purchase tickets in person, ask one of our Guest Experience staff members to help you round up the cost of your admission!

  1. Use Amazon Smile to Support the Aviary

If you are unable to visit the Aviary, there are ways you can support from the comfort of your own home! If you use Amazon, you can select Tracy Aviary as your Amazon Smile charity and 0.5% of eligible purchases will be donated to the Aviary. Just be sure you are using the your smile.amazon.com rather than just amazon.com, and select Tracy Aviary as your charity of choice. See the screenshots below for how to select Tracy Aviary.

First, you should see your supporting charity on the upper left corner of the screen when you visit smile.amazon.com

Click on the drop down arrow next to your charity, and then click that orange “change” button to change your charity.

This will take you to a search bar where you can search for “Tracy Aviary.”

We are the first organization that shows up when you search this, so hit that yellow “select” button and you are done! Now, eligible purchases you make at smile.amazon.com will support the Aviary.

  1. Join the Kroger Community Rewards Program and Give When You Grocery Shop

Did you know that Kroger grocery stores like Smith’s will donate to a charity of your choice, and all you have to do is buy your normal groceries? It’s true! It’s also very easy to sign up. The Kroger team walks you through it here: https://www.kroger.com/i/community/community-rewards

Just select Tracy Aviary as your organization and money from your Smith’s and other Kroger purchases will support the Aviary!

  1. Join our Monthly Giving Program and Support with a Few Dollars a Month

Donations to Tracy Aviary’s monthly giving program help ensure we can give our birds the species specific diets they need each day. By giving a little each month you join forces with our other monthly donors to raise the $6,000 we need each month to feed our flock. A monthly gift of $14 will feed one bird, but even giving $5 a month goes a long way in helping our birds stay happy and healthy!

You can pledge your month gift here: https://6059.blackbaudhosting.com/6059/Feed-the-Birds. If you’d like to pledge a gift amount that isn’t listed, just select the “other” button at the very bottom and enter your desired donation amount.

  1. Host a Facebook Fundraiser

If you are unable to donate right now, you can still help the Aviary by becoming a peer-to-peer fundraiser! This means that you are asking your friends, family, and other social circles to donate to the Aviary because it’s an organization that matters to you. Facebook makes it really easy to create fundraisers for nonprofits. You can get started here: https://www.facebook.com/fundraisers/

You can also raise money on Instagram, using the “donation” button feature on Instagram stories.

Finally, you can always share a Tracy Aviary donation link on whatever social media pages, emails, or other channels where you communicate with your circles: https://tracyaviary.org/donate

Thank you so much for all that you do to support the Aviary! We appreciate you and are lucky to have such an egg-cellent community here with us in Salt Lake City, and beyond. If you ever have any questions about your donation or ways to help the Aviary, you can reach out to Sally Goodger at .
