Join us in our new interactive series: Taking Flight Nights: Teen STEAM Cafés at Tracy Aviary!

These events are designed just for teens! Hardworking members of our Teen Advisory Board have invited professionals in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art, and math to share their work through engaging hands-on activities and discussions.

The theme for this Taking Flight Night is Renewable Energy! Meet Kyle Kemper, an engineer with sPower, and explore the incredible technology of solar power! Check out Kyle's bio below.

Gates open at 5:45 pm. Food and fun start at 6:00 pm. Please note that these programs are for ages 13-18.

Kyle is an Engineer on sPower’s operations team. sPower is the largest private owner of operating solar assets in the United States. sPower owns and operates more than 150 utility and commercial distributed electrical generation systems. His work is centralized on ensuring that renewable power plants operate and perform as intended. He has developed software tools to track the real-time, daily, and monthly performance of assets. He provides engineering support to the Control Room and constantly works to improve tools to monitor the portfolio. Prior to joining sPower, he worked for a startup company developing green technologies for converting plastic waste to usable fuels.
Kyle graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University.
