Join Utah State University – Water Quality Extension here at the Nature Center for an interactive, hands-on training session to become a UWW volunteer! Tracy Aviary has <\/span>adopted a monitoring site on the Jordan River, and volunteers will help collect water quality data once a month<\/span> from April through October. The data we collect helps inform policy and can also support future funding to improve our state\u2019s water quality. <\/span><\/p>\n

Participants will start indoors for an overview of monitoring protocols before heading out to a local site for field practice. Please come prepared for a short walk and Utah’s unpredictable spring weather\u2014this event is rain or shine!<\/p>\n

Volunteer Training Requirements<\/h6>\n

  1. Sign up to be a Tracy Aviary Volunteer<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    <\/b><\/b>2. Independent Online Training (required before the in-person training):<\/b>
    \n<\/b>All volunteers must complete Utah Water Watch\u2019s Tier 1 Collection training online <\/span>    here<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

    You are required to watch the following videos:<\/p>\n

    Monitoring Safety, Dissolved Oxygen, Temperature, pH, Turbidity, and E. coli.<\/p>\n

    You are also required to read Secchi disk, Decontamination, and State Numeric Criteria. You are also required to read the Utah Water Watch Volunteer Monitoring Manual.<\/p>\n

    3. In-Person Volunteer Training:<\/b>
    \n<\/b>Saturday, March 28th 10:00 AM \u2013 12:00 PM<\/b>
