Join the Tracy Aviary Bird Care Team in learning about what it takes to care for over 300 birds and 2 tortoises! We are welcoming teens entering 7-12th grade, during fall and winter school breaks!
What to expect
Help identify birds, prepare diets, clean exhibits, and offer enrichment. Experience what it is like to work outdoors. Learn what skills are needed to work in the animal care field. Meet other Aviary professionals that help us achieve our mission!
Much of the work is performed outside in all temperatures. Daily activities include bending, lifting, raking, hosing, and pulling carts. Close toed shoes are required. Birds eat a variety of different foods, including peanuts, fruits/vegetables, insects, fish, mice, rats, quail, and rabbits.
