About Sarah May

Sarah May is an artist and community organizer who works with marginalized communities in creative mediums like cyanotypes, puppet-making, and poetry. She has led art workshops at Tracy Aviary’s Nature Center at Pia Okwai for the past two years. She brings her unique artmaking skills to the community and empowers people to explore their stories and connection to nature through the arts. Sarah is an artist and co-founder of Making Waves Artist Collaborative, a non-profit cultivating lake-facing culture through participatory art and demonstrating love for Great Salt Lake.
