We had a wonderful time hosting Tecun Hernandez, UVU Adjunct Professor and his students at the Nature Center at Pia Okwai last week! @uvuchss 🌱

Professor Hernandez and his students partnered with Tracy Aviary and Tribal Nations in creating a welcome sign and map which includes Indigenous names for places, mammals, birds, and fish. You can now view this sign at the Nature Center entrance, or purchase a poster version of this map during your next visit, featuring Newe (Shoshone; Goshute) names! 🗺️

¡La semana pasada lo pasamos de maravilla recibiendo a Tecún Hernández, profesor adjunto de la UVU, y a sus alumnos en el Nature Center at Pia Okwai! @uvuchss 🌱
