Horticulture (March – November)
The Horticulture Team is passionate about creating a sustainable and beautiful ecosystem in Utah. If you’re looking for a light sweat once a week, don’t mind dirt under your nails, and would like to learn more about plants then you’ve found the right people!
Whether you are looking to make friends or dive deeper into that audiobook we’ve got options for you!
Group Horticulture: Lonely? That’s okay!
- Group meets once per week for a two hour shift with 2 – 6 members.
- Expect a change in projects from week to week – great for those who are easily bored!
- Outdoor work in variable weather conditions.
- Learn about tending to native and ornamental plants in a botanical garden.
- Build relationships with ongoing volunteers.
Individual: Do you hate people? That’s okay!
- Short instruction on projects at the beginning of shifts.
- Recurring projects are weeding, pruning and watering.
- Shifts flexible to your personal schedule, planned a week in advance.
- Minimum 8 hrs per month.
- Pop in some headphones or listen to the birds sing!
