Feeds on carrion.

Habitat

Lowland tropics, usually undisturbed forest, but also open savanna and grasslands.

Nesting

The king vulture does not build a nest; it lays usually 1 egg in hollows of rotting logs, stumps, or crevices in trees. Incubation is 53-58 days and fledging occurs at around 3 months.
