Puna Ibis

Diet

Puna Ibis have a long bill to probe in mud in creeks and flooded areas. They feed mainly on arthropods and invertebrates.  

Habitat

Lives at high altitudes in the Puna region of the Andes in swampy areas, rushy pastureland, mudflats, ponds and streams.

Nesting

Puna Ibis nest in colonial nests built with tall reeds to make vegetation platforms. They usually lays 2 eggs.

Did you know?

Puna Ibis inhabits the highlands of central Peru to southern Bolivia and the northern tip of Chile and northwest Argentina.
