Diet
Eats waterweed, sago pondweed, duck potato, and other aquatic vegetation. Young hatchlings eat bugs and crustaceans.
Habitat
In the summer, this swan inhabits freshwater marshes, ponds, and lakes. It spends winter in lakes, streams, estuaries, and sheltered coastlines.
Nesting
This species mates for life. The pair either refurbishes an old nest or builds a completely new one from marsh plants. Lays 4-9 eggs, which the female incubates for 32-38 days.
