West Indian Whistling Duck

Diet

West Indian Whistling Ducks are herbivores, mostly enjoying fruits, seeds, and grain,

Habitat

These ducks prefer to spend their time in swamps and marshes with dense tree cover, often mangroves.

Nesting

They may nest in trees or on the ground, and will typically lay clutches of 6-12 eggs which are incubated for 30 days. Both parents will incubate the eggs and stay with the chicks until they fledge.
