Agave After Dark | Bats & Tequila

In partnership with the Cocktail Collective, Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, and Natural History Museum of Utah,  join us for a BOOzy night filled with bats, conservation, and tequila.

Participants will be guided by Alexi Fisher, owner of Cocktail Collective, through a professional tasting of four to five carefully selected tequilas from distilleries whose practices or partnerships support bat protection, agave biodiversity, and responsible production. Alexi will teach guests how to evaluate each tequila’s appearance, aroma, flavor, texture, and finish while explaining production methods, classifications, regional characteristics, and the cultural significance of tequila.

The tasting will also explore the essential relationship between bats and agave plants, including bats’ role as pollinators and how conservation-conscious production practices can support biodiversity and the long-term sustainability of agave-based spirits. This combination of professional tasting instruction and conservation education will create a memorable connection between the featured tequilas and Tracy Aviary’s wildlife conservation mission.

This event will also include a presentation from a UDWR Conservation Biologist on local bat species, along with an assortment of bat specimens for viewing from NHMU.

The Cocktail Collective began as a passion project aimed at providing mixology and spirits education in Utah. Alexi, is an experienced spirits educator and event professional who holds professional certifications in Tequila and Mezcal from the Consejo Regulador del Tequila (CRT). Her background includes guided spirits tastings, beverage education, hospitality, and creating engaging experiences that make the history, culture, and production of distilled spirits accessible to a wide audience.
