City Nature Festival

Celebrate urban nature during our third annual City Nature Festival! There will be presentations by educators from Utah’s Hogle Zoo and the Natural History Museum of Utah. Learn how to use iNaturalist and participate in the City Nature Challenge Bioblitz! Enjoy complimentary snacks, and more!

Bird Walk 9-10am

Join experienced educators from Tracy Aviary on a bird walking tour along the Jordan River. No experience necessary! Binoculars and bird guides will be provided.

Nature Journaling 2-3pm

Join Tracy Aviary’s Conservation Outreach Biologist Frances Ngo to learn about the importance of nature journaling and a step-by-step tutorial on how to draw specimens while you are out in the field. Frances Ngo is an accomplished artist (@tiny_zoologist on Instagram) and scientist with years of experience teaching about and exploring the outdoors.No drawing or scientific background is required, and all materials are provided! We will provide all paint, paper, and pencils. These entries count towards Utah’s observational totals for the City Nature Challenge.

This event takes place after the City Nature Festival and is inside our Visitor Center. Space is limited and masks are required to attend this event. This workshop will be presented bilingually in Spanish and English.

Acompaña Frances Ngo, la Bióloga de la Divulgación de Conservación del Tracy Aviary, y aprender sobre el diario de la naturaleza e instrucciones sobre cómo dibujar especímenes en la naturaleza. Frances Ngo es una artista consumada (@tiny_zoologist en Instagram) y una científica con años de experiencia en la enseñanza y la exploración al aire libre.
