Let’s Go Birding Together
Featured in the Salt Lake Tribune!
Join us at Tracy Aviary’s Nature Center at Pia Okwai for a casual, guided bird walk along the Jordan River Parkway especially for LGBTQIA+ folks and our allies. This program is made for adults to connect with each other and the incredible birds who call Pia Okwai (Jordan River) home.
No bird watching experience? No problem! Our educators and conservation scientists are experienced bird nerds and will help you spot and identify birds along the trail. We’ll even have freshly-sanitized binoculars and bird guides for you to borrow (Thanks, Utah Division of Arts & Museums, for funding these tools!).
The grounds of the nature center and the section of the Jordan River Parkway we’ll be exploring are wheelchair accessible. Please contact us if you would like more accessibility information!
We’re not the only people around the country hosting Let’s Go Birding Together walks! You can read more about the start of Let’s Go Birding Together here.
Join us every last Sunday of the month – right here at the Nature Center!
Let’s Go Botanizing Together
A spin-off of Tracy Aviary’s popular Let’s Go Birding Together program!
Join Tracy Aviary educators and horticulturists on the second Sunday of June, July, and August to explore plants in the Wasatch with other LGBTQIA+ folx and allies. No experience necessary – we’ll provide hand lenses, plant guides, and all the know-how! You just need to dress for the weather, bring water and a snack, and come ready to learn and make new friends!
