American Avocet

Diet
Eats fish, brine shrimp, brine flies, and seeds by swinging its bill back and forth in the water.
Habitat
Inhabits fresh and saltwater wetlands. This species is found in large numbers at the Great Salt Lake during breeding season.
Nesting
Lays 3-4 eggs in a simple nest on the shore. If the water rises, it will build its nest higher with more sticks.
