Diet
Not much is known about their feeding habits, but it seems that they are omnivorous and obtain food mostly from diving.
Habitat
Breeds on sheltered, well-vegetated lakes, and prefers larger, more open bodies of water in the winter. In winter, it can be found on any body of water that does not freeze.
Nesting
Breeds during local spring, in single pairs or loose groups, lays clutches of 6-10 eggs which are incubated for about 27 days.
