Diet

Black-faced Ibises are carnivores, feeding mostly on insects, worms, small amphibians, and occasionally rodents, with some populations also feeding on marine molluscs.

Habitat

Black-faced Ibises generally inhabit open country, including fields, pastures, valleys, marshy areas, and open forest.

Nesting

They nest colonially, and lay clutches of 2-3 eggs.

Their characteristic long, hooked bill allows them to forage by probing in the ground for prey.
