Diet
Mainly eats fish, but will sometimes also eat amphibians and crustaceans. Fish are caught by diving under water.
Habitat
Occurs along inland waterways as well as in coastal areas.
Nesting
Lays 1-7 eggs in a stick nest built in trees, on cliff edges, or on the ground on suitable islands. Incubation period is 25-28 days. It is a gregarious bird usually nesting in colonies, often with other aquatic birds.

From a distance, the double-crested cormorant is a dark bird with a snaky neck, but up-close it is quite colorful – with organge-yellow on its face, striking turquoise eyes, and a bright blue mouth lining.
