Diet

Eats mostly fruit but is known to eat insects, small frogs, and lizards.

Habitat

Found in groups in the treetops of tropical forests.

Nesting

Nests in pre-existing tree cavities where the female lays 2-4 white eggs. Both parents care for the chicks for 6-8 weeks until its beak develops and it fledges.

Did you know?

This is one of few toucan species that is sexually dimorphic. Males have a black head and neck while those of the female are brown.
