Diet
Eats insects, reptiles, frogs, and rodents. This bird is known to catch and eat snakes up to 3 feet long.
Habitat
Eucalyptus forests and woodlands in Australia; occasionally, suburban areas and city parks.
Nesting
This bird pairs for life. Each pair is joined by 4-5 of their offspring, who help defend territory and raise the next year’s chicks. Female lays 2-3 eggs in a tree hollow. Incubation is 24-29 days, and fledging occurs 32-40 days later.
