Diet
Forages in short grass for insects, worms, and spiders. Occasionally eats mollusks, crustaceans, seeds, and leaves.
Habitat
Prefers short grass or fields near water, but is found in a wide range of open habitats.
Nesting
Pairs for life and breeds solitarily in their territory. Builds a depression nest on the ground and lays 3-4 eggs. Incubation is 28-30 days, and fledging occurs after 6-7 weeks.
