Diet
The redhead dives underwater in search of aquatic vegetation, mollusks, small fish, and aquatic insects, which can be found in muddy, shallow waters.
Habitat
Inhabits lakes, ponds, bays, marshlands, and coastal waters.
Nesting
Female redheads will often lay eggs in other ducks’ nests. When a redhead builds its own nest, it is made from vegetations and build near or on water. It lays an average of 15-19 eggs with an incubation period of 23-29 days.
