Toco Toucan
Ramphastos toco
Diet
This omnivorous bird uses its long bill to help it eat various types of fruit. It supplements its diet with insects, small mammals, reptiles, eggs, and other birds.
Habitat
Unlike other toucans, this species prefers more open areas, such as woodlands and savannas.
Nesting
Both parents take turns incubating the 2-4 eggs that are laid in a tree cavity nest. Once hatched, the parents take care of the young until they reach adulthood after about 2 months.
