Diet

Forages on the ground for fruits, seeds, insects and invertebrates.

Habitat

Found in lowland swamps and forests of New Guinea.

Nesting

Both parents help raise the young. The male will court a female with loud booming calls and bobbing of the head and tail. The female typically lays 1 white egg. Incubation lasts from 28–30 days. And when the chick hatches it requires care until about 10 days.
