Exploring Nature Speaker Series: The King and I – My 10-Year Relationship with an Andean Condor

Vultures may not seem like the easiest animals to love.  But Tracy Aviary’s Helen Dishaw developed a relationship with a 50-year-old Andean condor that changed both their lives and made Andy a worldwide ambassador for conservation.  His gentle and trusting nature allowed for unique close-up experiences with guests and his charisma created a global following of Andy N. Condor fans.

About the Presenter

Helen Dishaw is the Curator of Bird Programs at Tracy Aviary.  For more than 20 years, Helen has both trained (and learned) from many species. Her primary focus is on constantly improving the wellbeing of animals in human care and creating experiences that connect humans to the animals we share our planet with.
