Bird Talks

Interactive Kea Keeper Talk- Tuesdays at 2:15 p.m.
Our kea love investigating new items in their habitat; playing, shredding, and/or looking for food within it. You could be one of a few lucky guests randomly selected to go inside of their habitat with a keeper. There you will make and place enrichment items for them to play with! During this time you will also learn all about kea’s natural history and why they are nicknamed the “Clowns of the Mountains” as well as get to know the unique characters of each of our individuals.

Bird Shows
Outdoor Bird Shows are officially back for the Summer!
Experience the thrill of birds flying overhead, experience the talents of our feathered friends, and learn more about Tracy Aviary’s flock of Ambassador Birds.- Available 11:00 a.m., Tuesday-Sunday. No shows on Mondays
- Located in the Outdoor Bird Show Theater
- Bird shows are free and included in the price of general admission
- Entry is not permitted after the show begins
- Capacity is limited, so please plan on arriving 10-15 minutes prior to ensure seating
- No age restrictions
- Children must be accompanied by an adult and must be able to remain seated for the duration of the show
- Bird show times, locations, and capacity are subject to change
Tiny but Mighty Indoor Bird Show!
Our pint-sized ambassadors will show you even if you are small in size, you can be big in attitude and make a difference!- Available 1:30 p.m. Saturdays only
- Located in the Indoor Bird Show Theater
- Bird shows are free and included in the price of general admission
- Entry is not permitted after the show begins
- Capacity is limited, so please plan on arriving 10-15 minutes prior to ensure seating

Plants of the Rainforest Tour
Mondays and Thursdays at 12:45 p.m.
Meet a member of our Horticulture Team to learn more about exotic rainforest plants!Please meet at the entrance to Treasures of the Rainforest at 12:45 p.m.
The tour lasts approximately 15 minutes and concludes with a rainstorm!If you visit Friday-Wednesday you can still catch the rainstorm everyday at 1 p.m. in our Treasures of the Rainforest Exhibit.

Roaming Encounters
Daily at various times
While you explore Tracy Aviary, you may encounter one (or more!) of our Ambassador Birds, including our roseate spoonbills, American crow, turkey vultures, kea, ravens and green-winged macaw. -
Pelican Feeding
$3 for Members, $4 for non-members
Get up close and personal with our American White Pelicans and Dalmatian Pelicans while you toss fish into their mouths!

Lorikeet Adventure
$4 for Members, $5 for non-members
Get up close and personal with our rainbow-hued flock of lorikeets and get the chance to feed these colorful birds right out of your hand.

- Tickets available everyday: 9:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Must book IN PERSON at the Lorikeet Exhibit on the day of your experience

Educational Programming – Summer Only
Summer Educational Programs
Offered only during June, July, and August
Free Tours
- Monday and Wednesday
- 10-11 a.m.
- Each tour has its own theme, and our educators will give you in-depth information about 3-4 species during a 20 minute walk around the Aviary. Recent tour themes have included Conservation, Birds of Utah, and Nests, Eggs, and Chicks.
Stream Exploration
- Monday
- 1-2 p.m.
- Foster a connection to nature through this free-form, nature-based activity with the supervision of one of Tracy Aviary’s educators. Discover the diversity of plants and animals that live in our local streams.
