There’s always more to explore at Tracy Aviary. Check out the daily schedule posted at the Visitors Center for up-to-date programming information. All daily programs are included with the price of admission unless otherwise noted. Programs may be modified or canceled due to weather.

Bird Talks –Year Round

Meet a member of our Bird Care Team to learn more about the world of birds and their habitats.
Location
Plants of the Rainforest Tour – Year Round
Thursdays at 12:45 p.m.
Meet a member of our Horticulture Team to learn more about exotic rainforest plants!
Please meet at the entrance to Treasures of the Rainforest at 12:45 p.m.
The tour lasts approximately 15 minutes and concludes with a rainstorm!
If you visit Friday-Wednesday you can still catch the rainstorm everyday at 1 p.m. in our Treasures of the Rainforest Exhibit.
Bird Shows – Year Round
Indoor Bird Shows are officially back!
Experience the thrill of birds flying overhead, experience the talents of our feathered friends, and learn more about Tracy Aviary’s flock of Ambassador Birds.
- Available 11:00 a.m., Tuesday-Sunday. No shows on Mondays
- Located in the Indoor Bird Show Theater
- Bird shows are free and included in the price of general admission
- Entry is not permitted after the show begins
- Capacity is limited, so please plan on arriving 10-15 minutes prior to ensure seating
- No age restrictions
- Children must be accompanied by an adult and must be able to remain seated for the duration of the show
- Bird show times, locations, and capacity are subject to change
Tiny but Mighty Indoor Bird Show!
Our pint-sized ambassadors will show you even if you are small in size, you can be big in attitude and make a difference!
- Available 1:30 p.m. Saturdays only
- Located in the Indoor Bird Show Theater
- Bird shows are free and included in the price of general admission

Roaming Encounters – Year Round
Daily at various times
While you explore Tracy Aviary, you may encounter one (or more!) of our Ambassador Birds, including our roseate spoonbills, American crow, turkey vultures, kea, ravens and green-winged macaw.
Pelican Feedings – Seasonal
Everyday at 10 a.m.
Price: $3 for members, $4 for non-members (tickets available for purchase in-person on the day of your visit)
Get up close with our American White Pelicans and Dalmatian Pelicans.

Lorikeet Feedings – Seasonal
Monday-Friday, every 10 minutes from: 10-10:30 a.m. and 1:30-2 p.m.
Price: $4 for members, $5 for non-members (tickets available for purchase in-person on the day of your visit)
Get up close with our rainbow-hued flock of Lorikeets as you feed them right out of your hands. Located in the Lorikeet Adventure exhibit.

Educational Programming – Summer Only
Summer Educational Programs
Offered only during June, July, and August
Free Tours
- Monday-Saturday
- 9:30-10:30 a.m.
- Each tour has its own theme, and our educators will give you in-depth information about 3-4 species during a 20 minute walk around the Aviary. Recent tour themes have included Conservation, Birds of Utah, and Nests, Eggs, and Chicks.
Nature Play
- Monday-Thursday
- 1:30-2:30 p.m.
- Foster a connection to nature through free-form, nature-based activities with the supervision of one of Tracy Aviary’s educators. Nature Play activities include building nests, running a mud kitchen, or exploring one of the streams on grounds.
STEAM Workshops
- Fridays and Saturdays
- 1:30-2:30 p.m.
- Explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics with the help of our educators. Each week, there will be a different activity centered around one of the STEAM fields. Examples of lessons include wing-building engineering crafts, designing and conducting science experiments, and an introduction to scientific illustration.
