Owl Awareness Day: Meet the Burrowing Owl! 🦉

Did you know Utah is home to one of North America`s most unique owls? Burrowing Owls are small and active during the day. You can spot them in the wild at Antelope Island on the Great Salt Lake, where they nest in underground burrows across the island`s grasslands. The Great Salt Lake ecosystem is critical habitat, not just for Burrowing Owls, but for millions of migratory birds that depend on it every year.

Join us on Tuesday, August 4th, to celebrate Owl Awareness Day at Tracy Aviary! 🦉 We`ll have owl-themed keeper talks, roaming encounters, bird show demonstrations, and a drink special at the Bird Feeder Café to celebrate.

As a part of the festivities, you can take a photo of or with our feathered friend, Ollie the Owl, and post it on social media and tag Tracy Aviary to be entered to win a Behind the Scenes` owl experience. The winner will be announced on our Instagram story on August 11th!
