Male white-headed buffalo weavers build nests to entice females. Once a female accepts a male, she lines the nest with soft materials.
Let's Get Social
Tracy Aviary works alongside local and international partners to conserve birds and their habitats. Provita is the Venezuelan partner of the Iniciativa Cardenalito/Red Siskin Initiative, working to restore self-sustaining populations of this endangered bird across its historical range. They operate the Red Siskin Conservation Center in Venezuela, where the species is bred for future reintroductions.
From March 17–20 they’re participating in GlobalGiving’s Little by Little campaign, where donations up to $50 are matched at 50% while funds last. Small gifts can create big change. Join us in supporting their work by clicking the link in our bio. #LittlebyLittle
Some members of our conservation team went up to Alta last week to help @utahdwr band some of the cutest birds ever: Rosy-finches! 🥹
As a species of concern, we collaborate with our friends at the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources to help monitor these elusive birds. The information gathered from the banding efforts helps biologists learn more about migration patterns and other crucial data! 📝
Want to catch a glimpse of these birds? You can spot them on our livestream over on our YouTube channel. Click the link in our bio to check in on them anytime!
