Backstage Passes

Please choose an experience and fill out the form below to request a date for your Backstage Pass! You must book at least one week in advance for these experiences. 

All experiences require a General Admission ticket in addition to the experience fee.

Filling out this form constitutes an experience request, and does not automatically book your experience or guarantee your requested date(s). Certain days and times may not be available for all experiences. Following your completion of this form, we will reach out to you by email to finalize your date and time.

• Private Walk with Crane & Spoonbills

  

  Get close to Tracy Aviary stars, our West African Crowned Crane, Jasmine, and our Roseate Spoonbill trio, Rizzo, Marty, and Frenchy. Join us for this private experience before we open to the public and get your morning exercise walking through Tracy Aviary’s beautiful botanical gardens with our bird show stars as your chaperones. 

  Learn all about cranes and spoonbills and their conservation from our experienced staff as you enjoy walking with our birds and experience them in flight. You will also have the opportunity to hand-feed our crane, and don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the memories.

  Cost
  $100 for two people for non-members; members receive a 10% discount. Price does not include admission but if participants are not staying on-grounds after the experience, there is no admission necessary.

  Participant Limitations
  Up to two participants. Participants must be age 12 or older and children must be accompanied by an adult. 

  Availability
  Reservations must be scheduled at least ONE WEEK in advance.

  8-8:30AM or 8:30-9AM Wednesday-Saturday based on staff availability and weather permitting. While we will walk in the rain, we cannot take our crane and spoonbills out if there is snow on the ground.

• Paint with DaVinci

  

  Get close to one of Tracy Aviary’s greatest artists, Great Green Macaw, DaVinci. Choose your own colors and watch him create your custom piece of artwork while trainers help you get to know this talented artist better.

  The original piece of artwork, created on an 11×14″ canvas, is yours to take home and enjoy forever. All art is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and photo of the artist.

• Indoor Corvid Experience

  

  Get close to our clever, crafty corvids in this private experience featuring our bird show ambassador corvids. Experience for yourself why corvids are considered some of the smartest animals on our planet. 

  Learn all about crows, ravens, jays, and their clever corvid cousins from our experienced staff as you interact with some of the smartest and most resourceful birds we have on our ambassador team. Play a game with our raven, learn from our crow, have our magpie-jays fly to you, and capture photos to preserve the memories. Don’t forget your camera!

• Indoor Raptor Experience

  

  Get close to our airborne predators! Owls and falcons and hawks, oh my! See them fly, watch them eat, and feel the power and privilege of having one of more of our raptors fly to you or sit on arm. 

  Learn the similarities and differences between the three main groups of raptors as well as conservation action we can all take to help preserve them. Experience the rush of our falcon flying to you, watch our Red-tailed Hawk use his specialized beak and talons, and pose for photos with our Milky Eagle Owl. Don’t forget your camera!

• Indoor Hornbill Experience

  

  Get close to our amazing hornbills! These playful, social birds are a ton of fun to be around – from the largest ground hornbills to the smallest arboreal species with their long beaks and longer eyelashes, you will be swept off your feet by their beauty and charisma. 

  Learn about the individual personalities of our hornbill ambassadors as well as their conservation in the wild and all the fascinating physical and behavioral traits that make this incredible family of birds so special. You will have the opportunity to feed our birds as well as pose for photos. Don’t forget your camera!

• Indoor Owl Experience

  

  Get close to the largest and smallest owls on our team! Experience the “silent” flight of nature’s night-shift predators as one or more of our owls flies to you and the awe of looking into their eyes in this nose-to-beak experience with some of the fan-favorites among our ambassador birds.

  Learn about our individual owls and what makes them so special to us as well as conservation action we can all take to help preserve the local owls in our own backyards. These creatures of the night are surrounded by myth and mystery, it’s an unforgettable experience to be so close to them. Don’t forget your camera!
